ABOUT ME

My name is Da’Naisha Richards but everybody calls me nai or naisha. My name is way too long for some people so they shortened it. I am a senior at Sport and Medical Sciences Academy in Hartford, CT. I came from a divorced home and lived mainly with my mom. For most it wouldn’t seem that bad but I was closer to my dad then I am with my mom. When my dad left, my older sister left not too long after, so I really didn’t have anyone to talk to all the time in the house. I did speak to my mom and brother but the relationship wasn’t the same. Because of this problem my parents were facing they had recurring money issues because my dad lost his job and still wanted to provide for me and my brother. My capstone project is working with Junior Achievement to help myself and others learn more about financial literacy and how to budget money properly. Giving these money skills, and techniques to kids now can and will help them when they really need it later on.

MISSION STATEMENT

I want to be able to be the person who brings happiness and joy to anybody I meet. Being able to make people smile on their worst days makes me happy. My future matters to me most, establishing where I’m going to go and what steps I need to take to get there. My mission is to attend UConn Hartford and study health sciences. I want people to view me as my own person and not the people I hang out with.
